FEMWORKS and
ComeUnity
Wire for "Green the Block",
a community wide service day in Newark's Lincoln Park arts and
cultural district. Neighborhood organizations, charter schools,
and businesses have partnered with FEMWORKS and ComeUnity Wire
to open their doors to visitors and perform community service projects.
:: Youth Activities ::
Students will paint environmentally conscious art on trash receptacles,
and Newark enthusiasts will take a guided walking tour of Lincoln
Park neighborhood landmarks guided by Lincoln Park Coast Cultural
District. GREEN THE BLOCK is part of a national campaign steered
by the Hip Hop Caucus and Green for All that educates and mobilizes
low-income communities and communities of color to ensure a voice
and stake in the clean-energy economy.
